Georgann Adams is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Stroke Team Program Coordinator at IU Health Methodist. She has provided care for stroke patients since 1986, and was promoted to the role of Stroke Coordinator in July of 2013.
Georgann loves responding to the Stroke 1 calls in the Emergency Medicine and Trauma Center. In addition, she regularly attends IU Health EMS Audit and Reviews (held on the third Tuesdays at 7PM) where she presents interesting runs related to stroke cases and their outcomes.
She describes feeling privileged to be an integral part of one of the largest Neuroscience Programs in the country (the only one in Indiana), and having the ability to offer patients more options for acute stroke care. In addition to having the highest stroke patient treatment rates in Indiana,Georgann takes great pride in the rapid door-to-treatment times at Methodist. She describes being “so thankful for our EMS partners in helping us achieve the Comprehensive Stroke Center status!”
On a personal note, Georgann has 3 grown daughters, a dog and two cats. She loves to be outside in nature: boating, camping and gardening are some of her favorites.
Georgann looks forward to the opportunity to meet you at future EMS Audit and Reviews!
